What is a MTT (Mutli Table Tournaament)?
When you see Poker on Television most people think of WSOP (World Series Of Poker) and what they use is a MTT (Multi Table Tournament) format. It is like the SNG (Sit-n-Go) structure in another article. Basically instead of having one table with 6 to 9 players, you have multiple tables with more players involved.
A MTT (Multi Table Tournament) could have 2 or more tables going with 18 and up players seated. Meaning you could have 360 players on 40 different tables at any given time. It would look similar to this:
Table 1- 9 players
Table 2- 9 players
Table 3- 9 players
Table 4- 9 players
and so on.......
What happens is when a player goes out the field or number of players left gets smaller and smaller. And as a result of players leaving the tournament there is empty seats. So the host of the tournament will begin moving players around to re-seat them. As in the example above there would be maybe 30 tables left which would be the same as the above example but only with 270 players left.
And that is how they define MTT (Multi Table Tournament).
Why would you need a MTT (Multi Table Tournament) Poker Coach?
As with all Poker forms of games there are different strategies for different stages of play in each one. And with MTT (Multi Table Tournament) it is no different. That is where a Poker Coach that knows how to play and is Successful at playing these Tournaments will help you the most. Do think having a Cash Table Coach is going to help you in a tournament of 300+ players. Most likely not as a Cash Table Coach has a different plan than a Tournament Coach does.
So when it comes to Coaching always pick the right Coach for the right job..
Low Stakes Tournament Coaches will coach you differently than a High Stakes Tournament Coach would. Simply because the amount of the investment to play in these varies. As Low Stakes Tournaments could run from $0.10 to $5.00 buy-in. Where as a High Stakes Tournament could run you around $1000.00 to $10,000.00 in entry money. So you can see the difference in the amounts and the risk taking. You sure don't want to play in a $1000.00 buy-in game and have a Coach that has only worked with players that play with $1.00 buy-in as he may be too scared to play in certain situations.
So always pick the right Coach for the type of game you want to play..
