Daily 3-Bet: Brexit Stage Right, Mario Big Boss, Get That Nelly $

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a few too many Old Fashioneds, a foggy recollection of events and a whopper of an afternoon poker news hangover.

Got a tip for a future 3-Bet? Drop us a note about it in the comments.

Today in the 3-Bet we find an uncertain future but certain response to Brexit, Martin Jacobson gets Mario-ed and Anton Wigg finds the right cash game.

1) What Does It All Mean (for Poker)?

So, you know, the UK has voted to leave the European Union.

What does that mean for the people of Britain, Ireland, Scotland and Wales? The quashed dreams of Millenials suddenly finding themselves living out an older generation's misplaced vengeance on immigration?

The future of the PokerStars headquarters on the Isle of Man? The relative value of the GBP? UK gaming regulations? European poker players who live in London?

F*** if we know. But there seems to be a pretty clear picture of how most British (and Irish) poker players feel about it:

A painfully clear depiction is what is wrong with the current system. So so sad right now. #Brexit #eureferendum http://pic.twitter.com/cBuEzxnc5T

Need USD, have GBP

Thoroughly crushed by the Brexit vote. Am extremely fortunate to be eligible for Irish citizenship and will be applying. All not so lucky.

Wtf , world gone mad

— JP Kelly (@JP_Kelly5) June 24, 2016

For years we've had a political and editorial discourse that is racist and xenophobic, today we see the fruits of that.

— Sam Grafton (@SquidPoker) June 24, 2016

Happy now Cameron? You prick.

— Barny Boatman (@barnyboatman) June 24, 2016

I guess we all have to stop laughing at American people voting for Donald Trump now.

— Neil Channing (@SenseiChanning) June 24, 2016

It seems a little strange that when Europe is voting against austerity Britain vote for it as a permanent state

2) What Happens After You Beat the End Boss?

Not entirely related but somehow fitting for both politics and tournament poker yesterday from Martin Jacobson, who coincidentally is one of the European players who've taken advantage of the EU and lived in London for the past few years:

A player questioned how I keep motivated to continue playing after winning the main. He compared it to beating the big boss at Super Mario.

— Martin Jacobson (@Martin_Jacobson) June 23, 2016

@Martin_Jacobson this sums up tournament poker pretty well IMO http://pic.twitter.com/WLzWu8opm6

3) And If All Else Fails ...

Somehow, in the midst of it all, Anton Wigg has found the answer to the question of "what's the absolute best poker game you can imagine finding yourself in?"
