It’s safe to say that pretty much everyone playing the World Series of Poker wants a bracelet.
Paul Khoury already has one.
Khoury, who took a seat in Day 1c of the WSOP Colossus II today, helped co-found boutique bracelet company Lokai.
The bracelets, which were the brainchild of founder Steve Izen, are currently a hot ticket item with the likes of Oprah, Aaron Paul and Ashley Benson all hopping aboard the Lokai train.
Each bracelet contains water from Mount Everest and mud from the dead sea.
“It’s a mental reminder to stay balanced in life,” explained Khoury. “Those two elements in the bracelet kinda symbolize the highs and lows that we go through in life.”
Swapping Gold for Mud
It’s a far cry from the glitz and glam of the gold bracelet each winner receives at the WSOP.
“I think it’s a different style of bracelet but at the same time they both have a strong meaning,” said Khoury.
The Lokai bracelet fits in pretty well at a poker table considering the numerous ups and downs that exist in every No-Limit Hold’em tournament.
In addition to helping co-found Lokai, Khoury is well known for dating high-profile Twilight actress Ashley Greene.
Although it’s his first time playing the WSOP, Khoury has always had a penchant for the game from a very young age.
“I learned it from father,” he said. “He was someone that always made us play Texas Hold’em when we were kids.”

Khoury kept up with the game well into adulthood and regularly hosts a big 16-player game with his closest friends.
“We all come together and have some fun,” he said. “We’re usually watching the NBA playoffs or something in the background.”
A couple of Khoury’s friends made the decision to come to Vegas for the entire 6-week duration of the WSOP and take a shot at iconic tournament series.
“I figured I’d come down for a couple weekends and test it out,” said Khoury.
He seemed to be fitting in just fine with a healthy stack mid-way through the day.
“I think it’s a great event,” said Khoury of the Colossus.
“I’ve heard the structure is a little bit different this year and I’m excited to see where it goes. It’s a fun way to give people a chance and speed up a game that usually takes a bit longer.”
This might not be the end of Khoury at the WSOP either.
“I’m not sure but I think I’ll be here at least one or two more times over the course of the series,” he said.
