Esfandiari, Ladouceur Cruise Through Bubble Day at Main Event, 800 Remain

The money bubble burst earlier than expect on Day 3 of the 2016 WSOP Main Event.

Although Day 3 began with 2,186 but it only took four levels to cut that number down to hit the magic 1,011 number that meant every remaining was in the money.

Adam Furgatch had the misfortune of being the last player to get eliminated without making it into the money.

Meanwhile Belgian pro Kenny Hallaert stormed to the end-of-day chip lead with 1.7m chips.

Antonio Esfandiari (1.38m), Shaun Deeb (1.34m) Marc-Andre Ladouceur (1.3m) and Melanie Weisner (1.2m) are among the top 20 chip counts.

Just 800 players remain.

Phil Hellmuth didn’t make it far into Day 3.

The Poker Brat got it in bad against Sara Hall and wasn’t able to get any help from the board.

Hellmuth’s departure marked the end of poker so-called Big Three as Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey were eliminated yesterday.

Joe McKeehen's title defense ended in the later portion of Day 3. McKeehen ran into pocket aces with pocket tens and finished just shy of the money.

Some of the other pros that were eliminated before the money included Ray Romano, Vanessa Selbst, David Williams, Michael Mizrachi and David Benyamine.

There’s still a ton of pros still in the tournament including Mike Gorodinsky, Steve O’Dwyer, Antoine Saout and Andrew Lichtenberger.

Action resumes at 12 p.m. tomorrow. You can follow along live via the PokerListings WSOP Main Event live updates page.
