With the first Day 2 now done at the 2016 WSOP Main Event, the field has begun to narrow and a few big stacks have begun to take shape.
Tops of them all is California pro Valentin Vornicu, who has already turned his 50k starting stack into 838,600 - a massive stack almost 250k ahead of second-place Jamie Shaevel (586,000).
Alvaro Lopez (573,200), Azerbaijan's leading poker player Ramin Hajiyev (558,400) and Chad Power (546,8000) round out the Top 5.
With another Day 2 to come and the massive field still to combine on Day 3 there's obviously a long way to go, but a few of the names that will make deep runs are already likely in the top of the counts.
Baumann, Ho Battle to Big Stacks
Two very familiar names have already worked their way up near the top and bagged Top 20 stacks to end the day.
French Winamax pro Gaƫlle Baumann, who narrowly missed making the Main Event final table in 2012, busting in 10th, is back in good position for another run.
A runner-runner flush early on gave her a big boost to start the day and she just kept climbing, finishing the day with 504,600.
Battle of Malta host Maria Ho, who has two very deep Main Event runs of her own, looks primed for another as she steadily built her stack all day before ending the night with 435,000.
Marc-Andre Ladouceur (410,500), Kenny Hallaert (410,100), Brandon Adams (342,400), Matt Ashton (341,200), Prahlad Friedman (332,300) and Antonio Esfandiari (327,400) are also off the great starts.

Ivey, Negreanu and Hellmuth Back at It
The second of two Day 2s goes today at 11 am in the Amazon Room with some make or break early levels for three of poker's superstars.
Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth all return with less than starting stack today and will be looking to make a move.
Negreanu, who finished 11th last year, in particular needs to make something happen quickly with just 18,600 to his name.
Other notables back for Day 2c today include David Benyamine, Fedor Holz, Adrian Mateos, Kristen Bicknell and Chris Moorman, along with oh, about 3,000 others.
