Today in the 3-Bet we find retirement still treating Fedor Holz well, ESPN finds its Main Event villain and we muse over some heartfelt high roller poetry.
1) Fedor 3/6 in WCOOP $102k
Another day, another shot at a million-dollar payday for Fedor Holz.
"Retired" from poker or not, the Holz money train has barely slowed since, oh, early 2015 or so and he's back in position for a major poker score today.
Holz ended last night 3/6 in the elite $102k WCOOP High Roller, barely behind chip leaders Salman "salfshb" Behbehani and Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton.
He still has some work to do to make the money as just three players will take home any scratch.
But with a top prize of $1.4m it almost feels like manifest destiny Holz will be last man standing.

PokerStars pro Jason Mercier fired two bullets himself yesterday (to no avail) and streamed it live with Twitch kingpin Jason Somerville along for the ride.

2) Let the 2016 WSOP March Begin!
The long march to the 2016 November Nine began on ESPN yesterday with another glorious 2.5-hour episode hosted by poker soundbite maestros Lon McEachern and Norman Chad.
Action picked up on Day 4 with James Obst the chip leader, Shaun Deeb, Ryan Reiss and Greg Raymer alongside him on the feature table and plenty of great moments/highlights from WSOP first-timers.
While it would be great to see more of the action from the early days and a few more events make it to air, there's still nothing like that intro music and a gaggle of textbook puns from Norm to feel the WSOP buzz again.
While we may know how it turns out it's always fascinating to see the story arcs of the finalists play out along with the life-changing journeys of the lesser knowns.
As always ESPN likes to find a villain or two to play up, too, and to no one's surprise they've chosen Brit William Kassouf as the picture-perfect TV poker antagonist.

3) Squeezing Fishes Day and Night
The beginning of the Main Event on ESPN always makes us feel a little sentimental/wistful about why we continue to obsess over a game that can be so painful and heartwrenching.
